Dig & Clean Tools

Dig & Clean officially has two core tool lines: shovels for getting dirty junk and buried treasure out of the ground, and spray bottles for cleaning those finds. Better versions are part of normal progression. The safest upgrade is not automatically the most expensive tool on the stand; it is the one that removes the bottleneck in the route you can run now.

Pick a tool page

Use a list page when you are standing at Gear and need to read the current catalog. Use the Upgrade Guide when both tools are available but you do not know which purchase improves a complete session.

How shovels and spray bottles split the work

The shovel controls the excavation side of the loop. Current community footage shows targets that can be too strong for an equipped shovel, so access and practical dig time matter more than appearance. When progress stops and the interface indicates insufficient strength, switch target or upgrade; repeated attempts do not turn the same shovel into a stronger one.

The spray bottle controls the cleaning side. Walkthrough footage shows Gear cards with displayed fields such as Power and Range on at least some bottles. Read those fields from the current item card rather than preserving old numbers from a video. Power may affect cleaning progress and Range may affect how forgiving the spray is, but the exact behavior and scaling should be confirmed with a side-by-side live test.

Detector is included here only as a currently observed Gear category, not as a promised permanent system or a separate catalog. The official experience description does not name it. Use the live card and route feedback if it appears in your server.

Read the Gear screen before buying

Open Gear and select the exact category. Note the equipped tool, candidate name, cost, displayed stats, and any unlock message. Make sure the currency icon matches the balance you intend to spend. A stand can show several colorful models, but order and color alone do not establish value.

After purchase, confirm the tool is equipped. Current footage shows an explicit equipped state in Gear. Run one familiar target with the old tool before buying, then repeat a comparable target with the new tool. For spray bottles, use a similar dirty object and cleaning distance. Record real elapsed time only when the target conditions are close enough to compare.

Find your actual bottleneck

Time a complete circuit in four parts: travel and target selection, digging, cleaning, and museum or selling decisions. If digging dominates, a shovel is the direct candidate. If dirty items queue at the cleaning station, compare spray bottles. If travel dominates, change location and batch route before buying a tool. If decisions and inventory management dominate, use Collection and museum planning rather than more power.

The complete loop matters because a faster shovel can create a cleaning backlog. A stronger spray bottle can sit idle if your shovel cannot free suitable targets. Upgrade the slowest repeatable part while keeping enough balance for the next area or requirement you can actually reach.

A safe early upgrade order

First, fix a hard block. If your current shovel cannot work the target required for progress, shovel strength has priority. Second, fix a consistent queue. If every dig finishes quickly but each clean takes much longer, improve the spray side. Third, compare route reach: a costly tool is poor value if its benefit appears only in an area you have not unlocked.

Community creators recommend skipping some adjacent small upgrades and saving for a larger improvement. That can be sensible when the live stat jump is clearly larger, but it is not a universal rule. Compare the current card, cost, and time saved. A cheap intermediate purchase can still be correct when it opens targets that fund the next step.

Robux shortcuts versus normal tools

Official Roblox API data lists Instant Clean and 2x Dig Power Game Passes, alongside VIP, 2x Luck, 2x Gold, and 2x Walkspeed. Names and current prices are reliable Store fields; exact stacking and full behavior are not described by the creator. Compare them on the Gamepasses page before spending Robux.

Do not confuse a permanent-looking Game Pass name with a normal currency tool. A paid shortcut may reduce one step but does not replace location knowledge, Collection decisions, or museum planning. Test the free loop first so you know which inconvenience you would actually be paying to remove.

Tool mistakes that waste progress

Do not buy from a video screenshot without checking the live cost. Do not assume a higher number means the same percentage improvement across all targets. Do not change shovel, bottle, location, and boost at once if you want to learn what helped. Do not sell a good museum candidate merely to complete an upgrade whose advantage you cannot use yet.

Finally, do not publish a complete list from a partial equipment stand. Tool names, ordering, prices, stats, and unlocks need a current live catalog. The two list pages keep unknown entries out instead of filling the index with guesses.
